Our understanding of how Brexit is going to play out has changed with regards to the HS codes and classification.  We thought GB had posted a new tariff with a substantially different HS code structure.  This was a mistake, as it seems that the HS codes and classifications will remain in line with the current EU tariff through the transition on Jan 1st 2021.  After Jan 1st, GB may start to shift the nomenclature away from EU’s version, but on the actual transition they will remain the same ( or very close ).  The biggest change appears to just be in the simplification of the duty rates.  The attached Excel is still the best source for this comparison between current EU rates and the future GB rates.

We will continue to monitor the tariff situation with regards to Brexit and post updates as we find relevant information.
